Positive pregnancy test at only 11 years of age. She did not know she was pregnant. She had no idea that missed menses, gradual abdominal enlargement and feeling something move inside her all point to pregnancy. This is why we need to educate the youth about sex, pregnancy and reproductive health. (11.24.11)

This only recapitulates the need for a better and accessible reproductive health care system in our country.
These kinds of situations can be prevented if one is well-informed. Teaching reproductive health to the younger ones does not mean we are urging them to engage in premarital sex and promiscuity. Instead, we should look at it as a form of enlightenment for them to understand and have a better idea of what the consequences of their actions are. 
Like one of our OB-GYN consultants said…”Please be good. If you can’t be good, please be safe”.
